CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Dallas Mavericks center Dirk Nowitzki returned for the start of the second half against the Charlotte Bobcats after spraining his left ankle in the second quarter on Tuesday night.

Nowitzki turned his ankle with 9:22 left in the first half when he stepped on the foot of Charlotte’s Josh McRoberts. Nowitzki was taken to the locker room for observation.

Nowitzki scored just two points in 10 minutes of action before leaving the court under his own power, with a slight limp.

The 35-year-old Nowitzki came into the game 16-0 in career games against the Bobcats, averaging 26.1 points per game.
