MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says releases of toxic pollutants in Vermont declined by 18 percent between 2011 and 2012.
The EPA on Monday released its annual Toxic Release Inventory for each state.
Once again, IBM’s facilities in Chittenden County were easily the largest emitters of toxic chemicals in the state.
Other top releasers included the Cabot Creamery in Washington County and the General Electric plants in Rutland.
