STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - A suspicious backpack that prompted evacuations at Stanford University has been determined not to be a threat.

University officials said around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday that buildings would slowly be brought back into service.

The backpack was discovered outside a student union in the morning, prompting the evacuation of several buildings in the vicinity.
