COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Some 80 employers are taking part in a job fair for military men and women, military veterans and their spouses.

Tuesday’s scheduled event is sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and is to be held at the Solomon Center at Fort Jackson outside Columbia.

A workshop on resume building, job search tools and interviewing techniques starts at 9 a.m. and the fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Veterans must provide proof of service. Walk-in job seekers are accepted, but all job seekers are asked to register for free at hiringourheroes.org .

The event is being held in partnership with the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, the South Carolina Department of Workforce, the South Carolina Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
