COLCHESTER, Conn. (AP) - State police have released the name of the man killed when his pickup truck crashed into a utility pole in Colchester.

Troopers say 22-year-old Charles Malloy of Uncasville died after his truck hit a pole on Parum Road, rolled over and landed on its roof at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Malloy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are trying to determine the cause.

State police say the truck broke the pole in half and caused utility wires to fall onto Parum Road, which is also Route 354. The road was closed for several hours after the crash.
