HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - The Public Employees Insurance Agency is partnering with Marshall University to offer a wellness program at public employee worksites around the state.
PEIA health promotions director Nidia Henderson says in a news release that the Pathways to Wellness program will offer classes on fitness, nutrition and stress management, along with lifestyle coaching services.
Henderson says the goal is to promote health through prevention, reduce chronic illness and disability, and improve productivity for public employers.
Marshall’s College of Health Professions and the Marshall University Research Corporation will work with PEIA to administer the program.
College of Health Professions dean Dr. Michael W. Prewitt says the partnership will complement the college’s goals and create opportunities to make and sustain health improvements.
