NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A contempt ruling against an assistant prosecutor in Norfolk has been overturned.

District Judge S. Clark Daugherty had found Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Catherine Paxson in contempt on Jan. 7 for not being in his courtroom on time.

The Virginian-Pilot (https://bit.ly/1giGy8k ) reports that Circuit Court Judge Charles E. Poston overturned Daugherty’s decision on Friday. Poston also overturned a $250 fine that Daugherty had ordered Paxson to pay.

Court records show Paxson told a clerk in Daugherty’s courtroom that she needed to attend to a brief matter in circuit court.
