PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island Congressman David Cicilline will be bringing some Valentine’s Day cheer to military veterans.

Cicilline is set to travel Monday to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Providence and the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol to deliver Valentine’s Day cards prepared by elementary school students for local veterans.

The cards were made by students as part of Cicilline’s “Valentines for Veterans” program. Monday’s event marks the program’s third year.

Cicilline asked students in schools across Rhode Island’s 1st Congressional District to prepare cards for veterans to honor their service and celebrate Valentine’s Day.
