HULL, England (AP) - Brazil midfielder Paulinho earned Tottenham a point by scoring a second-half equalizer in a 1-1 draw at Hull in the Premier League on Saturday.

Shane Long scored his first goal since his move from West Bromwich Albion - and Hull’s first of 2014 - after 12 minutes when he raced onto a clever pass by strike partner Nikica Jelavic.

Tottenham improved in the second half and Paulinho, back in the team after a month out with an ankle injury, brought a speculative shot from Danny Rose under control before powering a finish home in the 61st.

The result ended Tottenham’s 100 percent winning record away from home under new manager Tim Sherwood but at least restored some order after a 5-1 thrashing by Manchester City on Wednesday.

Tottenham is sixth, provisionally two points behind fourth-place Liverpool.
