PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Boston Red Sox are bringing their World Series championship trophy to Providence once again.

The trophy will be on display at the Providence Place Mall on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Wally the Green Monster, the team mascot, is expected to be on hand from noon to 2 p.m. No Red Sox players are expected.

Mayor Angel Taveras led a rally in November to celebrate the team’s victory, and scores of fans lined up to take pictures of themselves with the trophy at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

The Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals last year to win their third World Series in 10 seasons.
