COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (AP) - A Post Falls couple that had been charged with abusing two foster children, including one who died, have been sentenced following an agreement where they entered Alford pleads to perjury.

The Spokesman-Review reports (https://bit.ly/1bNKVFh) in a story on Friday that Jeremy M. Clark and Amber M. Clark in 1st District Court have been sentenced to 90 days in jail, 300 hours of community service, and two years of supervised probation.

In an Alford plea, a person doesn’t admit guilt but concedes a jury could find them guilty based on the evidence.

The Clarks were indicted in November 2011 for the January 2009 death of 2-year-old Karina J. Moore. The Clarks said the girl fell down the stairs.

Kootenai County Prosecutor Barry McHugh argued the Clarks should each be sentenced to 14 years in prison.
