BETHEL, Alaska (AP) - The Bethel City Council will meet in a Saturday session.

KYUK reports (https://is.gd/iFU133) the council is meeting to look into the possibility of hiring an independent auditor or investigator to review the way the city issues contracts.

Members also will take a look at personnel policies during the morning meeting.

The agenda includes an executive session to discuss matters that could have an adverse effect on city finances related to contracts and personnel management.

Council member Sharon Sigmon says the meeting isn’t in reaction to any specific contract or personnel issue.

However, she says council members want to make certain things are being done properly and in accordance with city code.
