Washington Wizards power forward Nene was ruled out of Monday night’s game against the Boston Celtics because of a sore right knee.

Nene returned Dec. 5 after missing five consecutive games because of plantar fasciitis. The news that he would be out Monday night came just before tip-off.

Nene, in his 13th NBA season, has played 82 games once in his career. Since joining the Wizards in 2011, he has not played more than 61 games in a season because of a variety of injuries.
