Trent Williams is active and will play for the Washington Redskins against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday despite a sprained right shoulder that has kept him from practicing in full for much of the past two weeks.

Williams, who injured his shoulder in the Redskins’ road loss to the New York Giants on Dec. 14, did not practice on Wednesday and would not have practiced on Thursday had Washington held a practice on Christmas. He was able to practice in a limited manner on Friday.

Inside linebacker Keenan Robinson is also active and will play after missing three games with a sprained MCL in his left knee. Robinson, injured in the Redskins’ game at Indianapolis on Nov. 30, had been replaced by Will Compton.

Inactive for the Redskins on Sunday are running back Chris Thompson, wide receiver Leonard Hankerson, left guard Josh LeRibeus, inside linebacker Steve Beauharnais, cornerback Kenny Okoro, right tackle Rishaw Johnson and defensive end Travian Robertson, who was claimed off waivers from Seattle on Saturday after Washington put defensive end Jason Hatcher on injured reserve.

Thompson, signed off the practice squad prior to the Redskins’ game against the Giants, had served as a third-down back with Roy Helu out because of injury.
