Bruce Willis posted a video message on the United Service Organizations’ website Thursday, reminding Americans to appreciate and thank the U.S. military members spending this holiday season overseas.

“Over the years I have been fortunate enough to travel overseas with the USO,” the “Die Hard” actor says in the video.

“I’ve seen firsthand the sacrifices our troops make every day,” Mr. Willis continues. “Now is the time they need us most. We must all do our part to say, ’Thank you.’”

“I hope that others will join me in showing their gratitude to the brave men and women and in letting them know we are always by their side,” he concludes. “Happy holidays, come home safe, God Bless and Merry Christmas. Thank you so very much.”

In 2003, Mr. Willis visited Iraq with the USO, singing to the troops with his band, The Accelerators. The USO is a nonprofit that works to provide programs and services to U.S. troops and their families.
