Director Tim Burton and actress Helena Bonham Carter have split up after spending 13 years together.
The couple “separated amicably earlier this year and have continued to be friends and co-parent their children,” Ms. Carter’s representative told People magazine. “We would ask that you respect their privacy and that of their children during this time.”
The couple never married but were together raising their son Billy Raymond, 11, and daughter Nell, 7.
Mr. Burton, 56, first met Ms. Carter, 48, in 2001’s “Planet of the Apes.” She has been a muse for the famed director ever since, starring in such blockbuster hits “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
