Valerie Plame, the former CIA operative whose identity was revealed in a published media column in 2003 that cited information from the U.S. State Department, has played a part in the outing of yet another field agent.
Glenn Greenwald, the journalist known for bringing the allegations of former NSA contractor Edward Snowden to light, disclosed in a recent story the name of a CIA agent allegedly involved in the feds’ anti-terrorism interrogation program — which Mrs. Plame promptly retweeted.
She also then retweeted a disparaging remark about Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Marco Rubio of Florida for supporting the CIA and opposing normalized relations with Cuba.
Mrs. Plame, who was married to former U.S. Ambassador Joseph Wilson, resigned from the CIA in 2005 and has since become an author. Columnist Robert Novak, now deceased, had published her name in an op-ed.
