The Pentagon wants all children to know that Santa Claus can fly safely through American airspace during the holiday season.

Pentagon press secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby. said Friday that North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) guarantees that Santa’s sleigh has permission to traverse the skies as he pleases while delivering presents.

“In the air domain, they report that Canadian NORAD Region and Continental NORAD Region are ready to escort Santa when he enters U.S. and Canadian airspace. Through our coordination with the FAA and NAV-CANADA, we can confirm that North American airspace is safe for sleigh travel,” Adm. Kirby said, The Hill reported Friday.

The admiral added that Aegis radars will track Santa and that ships “are standing by to conduct any lost-gift rescue operations.”
