A perfect record and all-around performance make people notice.
Washington Wizards point guard John Wall was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday after the Wizards went 4-0 last week. Wall was the catalyst for the perfect week, averaging 18.3 points, 11.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting .542 from the field and .500 from three-point range.
Wall was the only player in the NBA to average at least 18 points, 11 assists and five rebounds during the week.
He also harassed opposing point guards — including Los Angeles Clippers point man Chris Paul — defensively.
This is the fourth NBA Player of the Week honor for Wall who won twice last season, in November and March.
On the season, Wall is averaging 17.7 points, 10.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals.
At 17-6, the Wizards are 11 games over .500 for the first time since April 1, 2005. No joke.
