Quarterback Colt McCoy is considered questionable to play in the Washington Redskins’ game against the New York Giants on Sunday as he continues to recover from a pinched nerve in his neck.

McCoy, who is still pegged to start in that game, visited a specialist Friday afternoon and received medical clearance, a person familiar with the outcome of that visit said. He declined to speak after practice on Friday, citing his need to make it to that appointment.

“He did everything good today,” said coach Jay Gruden, who shared that McCoy took all the first-team snaps in practice. “He was fine. He threw the ball well and didn’t have any issues whatsoever. So, I just want to make sure he goes there and gets it checked to by one more guy. It doesn’t hurt.”

Inside linebacker Keenan Robinson, strong safety Brandon Meriweather and running back Roy Helu will not play for the Washington Redskins against the New York Giants on Sunday because of injury.

Robinson (sprained MCL in left knee) and Meriweather (sprained right big toe) will miss their second consecutive games, while Helu (turf toe in left foot) will sit for the first time after sustaining the injury in the loss to St. Louis last Sunday.

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson (bruised right leg), defensive ends Jason Hatcher (sprained right knee) and Kedric Golson (strained back) and defensive end Chris Baker (unspecified toe injury) are considered questionable, while nose tackle Barry Cofield (illness) and inside linebacker Will Compton (spinal cord concussion) is considered probable.
