A man listed as a sexual predator on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website has won $3 million in the state’s lottery.

Timothy Poole bought the winning scratch-off ticket a few days ago at a convenience store in Mount Dora, near Orlando, The Associated Press reported.

The local WKMG station said he’s listed as a sexual predator, but has maintained he was wrongly accused. The television station reported that Poole was arrested in 1999 over accusations of sexually battering a boy, age 9, AP said.

He denied the charges, but did plead guilty to attempted sexual battery — and subsequently served time in jail, AP said.

In 2003, Poole didn’t show up for required counseling session and had his probation revoked. He then served three years in prison, AP said. He still maintains he was falsely accused.
