Los Angeles television and video game actor Dimitri Diatchenko, 46, was charged with killing his ex-girlfriend’s pet rabbit, cooking it and eating half of it, and sending her photographs of the process with a threat to do the same to her.

Mr. Diatchenko of North Hollywood — who works as an actor and musician and has had several voice roles in “Call of Duty” and other video games — was formally charged with animal cruelty and making criminal threats, CBS News reported. He could face up to four years and eight months in prison.

Mr.Diatchenko, who was born in San Francisco, had been living with the woman, but their relationship ended and she made plans to move out, Los Angeles County prosecutors said, CBS News reported.

“Diatchenko [subsequently] skinned the pet, cooked it and ate half of it while sending here step-by-step pictures of what he did,” a statement from the district attorney’s office said, CBS News reported. “When she returned [to the home], the defendant allegedly told her he would do the same to her.”

Mr. Diatchenko made bail; his manager, Barry Bookin, didn’t comment.
