Michael Hirsch, a national editor for Politico Magazine, slammed Dick Cheney in a tweet, calling the former vice president a “war criminal” while referencing a colleague’s article about post-Sept. 11 waterboarding.
He first linked to the article by Mark Fallon, “Dick Cheney Was Lying About Torture,” and then wrote: “Another item in the already-long bill of particulars on Dick Cheney, War Criminal!”
The article looked at so-called torture techniques used by the U.S. government and summarized that rapport-building strategies are actually the “best way to obtain intelligence” — but never referred to Mr. Cheney as a war criminal.
