White House officials said Wednesday the president wholeheartedly approves of Time Magazine naming health-care workers battling the Ebola virus as “person of the year.”

Time announced its selection Wednesday morning, highlighting the efforts of those battling Ebola in West Africa.

“These are men and women who deserve international recognition and today we are pleased they’re receiving more of it,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters.
