Texas Gov. Rick Perry has done more events in the early presidential state of Iowa over the past few years than any major potential GOP presidential contender in 2016, according to a tally from the Des Moines Register.
As candidates get closer to making a decision on whether or not to toss their hat into the ring, here’s where they stand in terms of the number of events they’ve done in the Hawkeye State since the 2012 elections, according to the paper:
1. Texas Gov. Rick Perry — eight trips; 33 events over 15 days.
2. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky — six trips; 24 events over 10 days.
3. Former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania — nine trips; 19 events over 12 days.
4. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas — six trips; 12 events over eight days.

5. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal — four trips; 10 events over seven days.
6. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie — four trips; eight events over four days.
7. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida — four trips; eight events over five days.
8. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee — five trips; seven events over six days.
9. Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio — one trip; seven events over two days.
10. Dr. Ben Carson — two trips; six events over three days.

12. Former Massachusetts Gov. and 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney — two trips; four events over three days.

14. Indiana Gov. Mike Pence — one trip; one event.
