Ferguson’s a long way from Washington, D.C. — but that didn’t matter to protesters who wound their way to the 14th St. Bridge, one of the heaviest traveled portions of roadway for commuters, and blocked off traffic with their bodies.
The bridge was closed to Monday morning commuters, and travelers were diverted onto the Southeast/Southwest Freeway, NBC 4 in Washington reported. It’s not known if anyone was arrested.
Protesters — angry at the grand jury ruling that released officer Darren Wilson from further prosecution for the Aug. 9 shooting death of teen Michael Brown — linked arms and formed a line across the bridge.
