North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un reportedly went to the Chonji Lubricant Factory on Tuesday to give “field guidance” to its workers and praise them for “steadily improving the technical specifications.”
During the tour, the North Korean leader became emotional over the absence of his late father, saying “I feel very sorry for failing to show him this modern splendid factory even once. This factory is a posthumous one,” Foreign Policy magazine reported.
Kim added that the existence of the factory was a “patriotic feat” made possible by hardships endured by his father, the magazine reported.
Foreign Policy reported that Kim Jong-un has utilized propaganda events like Kim Jong-il, but has differed from him by crafting such spectacles around economic growth instead of military achievements.
