Republican Rep. Steven Palazzo from Mississippi sent out a copy of the Holy Bible to each and every fellow member of Congress — all 535 of them — as a means of giving out “God’s Word” and inspiring deeper policy meditations.

Along with the Bible, he included this message, Talking Points Memo reported: “On a daily basis, we contemplate policy decisions that impact America’s future. Our staffs provide us with policy memoirs, statistics and recommendations that help us make informed decisions. However, I find that the best advice comes through meditating on God’s Word. Please fined a copy of the Holy Bible to help guide you in your decision-making … [it’s an] inspirational and informational resource.”

He sent out the letter on Tuesday — just in time for the monthlong congressional recess.

Mr. Palazzo clarified that one of his constituents actually paid for the Bibles, the New York Post reported.
