Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin slammed Jesse Ventura for chasing and winning a $2 million defamation judgment against the wide of Chris Kyle, saying his lawsuit was anti-American and “ridiculous.”

“Hey tough guy, Jesse Ventura, your feelings were hurt because you perceived your reputation was besmirched by words in a book? So you turn around and sue, expecting $2 million from a military widow and her fatherless children? Yeah, like that is going to help your reputation, jackass,” she said on her Sarah Palin Channel.

A judge sided last week with Mr. Ventura against the widow of “The American Sniper” author, Mr. Kyle, who was killed at a shooting range.

“You went after the bereaved family, whining that you, a public figure, were defamed in Chris’s book, ’American Sniper,’ even though Chris never wrote your name in the book,” Mrs. Palin said. “Since when are public figures immune from hearing something we don’t like, anyway? Christ always stood up for every American. Now we’re standing up for him.”

She also lambasted Mr. Ventura for “shaking down” Mrs. Kyle and expressed hope that the former wrestler’s “appalling” and “shameful” court win would be overturned on appeal.
