President Obama sent shockwaves over social media for his choice of dress to give long-awaited remarks on White House strategy on the Islamic State and on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine — a tan suit, seen as inappropriately informal.

Journalists, especially, noted the casual color for so solemn an occasion, The Hill reported.

“LOOK. AT. THAT. SUIT,” tweeted one observer, The Hill reported.

“Not sure tan … suits him,” tweeted another.

And another: “Not only is Obama wearing a tan suit, it seems way too big for him too. It looks like he’s about to be bar mitzvahed in Miami.”

Yet another: “Really not liking this Obama tan suit. Sends the wrong signals to our allies.”

His suit seemed to shock almost as much as his statement on the Islamic State — when he said that the White House doesn’t yet have a policy. As another tweeter pointed, “Social med will comment more on the president’s tan sport coat than his words,” The Hill reported.
