Sen. Mark Pryor is locked in a tight re-election battle with Rep. Tom Cotton, according to a Rasmussen Reports survey.

The poll, released Wednesday, showed that Mr. Pryor, a Democrat, has a 44 percent to 43 percent edge over Mr. Cotton, a Republican. The remaining 6 percent are undecided.

“Support for Republican challenger Tom Cotton has slipped a bit, turning the Arkansas Senate race into a dead heat,” the poll analysis said.

The survey of 750 likely voters was conducted Aug. 25-26 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.

Mr. Pryor is a top target of Republicans as they look to pick up a net of six seats to flip control of the Senate.
