Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a darling of liberal Democrats, plans to host a Washington fundraiser on behalf of Rep. Bruce Braley, who is running for the Senate in Iowa against Republican Joni Ernst.

In an email blast from the Braley camp, Mrs. Warren invites supporters to donate to the Democrat. Mrs. Warren says that donors will be automatically entered into a contest to win a trip to Washington to share lunch with her and the candidate.

“If Bruce is going win this November, he’s going to need your help. He’s neck-and-neck with his Tea Party opponent Joni Ernst and getting slammed by millions of dollars of attack ads by her powerful friends,” Mrs. Warren said in the email. “It’s one of the tightest races in the country, and our Democratic majority is on the line.”

Mrs. Warren endorsed Mr. Braley earlier this year. In the email, she said he will fight “to protect veterans’ benefits, push to raise the minimum wage, and join me in the fight to help kids and families getting crushed with student loan debt.”
