The North American Aerospace Defense Command scrambled two CF-18 fighter jets to escort a Canadian airliner on its unplanned return to a Toronto airport. Sunwing Flight 656 took off from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport at 4:00 local time, bound for Cuba. According to CTVNews, the plane may have turned back to Canada after an onboard disturbance over Florida.

The two fighter jets were scrambled by NORAD out of a Canadian base in Bagotville as a precautionary measure.

The plane landed safely back at Pearson at 8:34 p.m. Police said two female suspects were arrested for disruptive behavior, CTVNews reported.
