LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The woman who has been serving as the interim director of Arkansas’ Medicaid program has been selected to step in as its new leader.

The Department of Human Services on Monday announced that Dawn Stehle has been chosen to lead the program after serving as its interim director since June 1. Stehle replaced Andy Allison, who left in June to pursue other opportunities.

Stehle has worked with DHS since August 2006, when she started as a fellow working in Medicaid before landing a permanent position as a policy analyst. She’s also served as DHS policy and planning director and as its director of health care innovation.
