A daughter-father fishing duo caught the catch of their lifetime off the coast of Maine — a blue lobster that’s so rare that the chances of netting one are about 1-in-2 million.
Meghan LaPlante, 14, and her father Jay, who both work with the Miss Meghan Lobster Catch company, discovered the blue lobster in one of their traps, ABC News reported.
The blue color comes from a genetic defect, ABC News said.
But that genetic defect has proven lucky for the lobster. Rather than tossing the crustacean into a pot of boiling water, the lobster — dubbed “Skyler” — will now live at the Maine’s State Aquarium, ABC News reported.
