Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and let his former running mate Rep. Paul Ryan dump the bucket of ice water over his head.
“That is cold,” chuckled Mr. Romney after getting doused by Mr. Ryan.
He posted a video of it Friday on Facebook.
Mr. Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, took the challenge wearing a blue suit, white dress shirt and red tie.
He said that in addition to getting soaked he would make a donation to fight Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, which is often called Lou Gehrig’s disease.
As is the custom, Mr. Romney passed on the challenge, naming his wife Ann Romney and comedic actor Jason Sudeikis.
“My challenge is to my sweetheart Ann — you’ve got 24 hours — and also to Jason Sudeikis. Jason, get wet and make a contribution,” he said.
Mr. Romney joins other politicians who have taken the challenge, including former President George W. Bush and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, as well as several members of Congress.
