NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) — Federal authorities have arrested a man in southern Arizona who allegedly tried to cross into Mexico with $420,000 in undeclared cash.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say 33-year-old Victor Dariel Peralta-Cohen was driving through the Dennis DeConcini border crossing in Nogales when agents pulled him over to inspect his car.

They say the cash was found hidden under the vehicle’s rear seats and in the trunk.

Authorities say Peralta-Cohan is from Mexico, but his hometown wasn’t immediately released Tuesday.

He was referred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
