ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York’s environmental agency is investigating a 100-gallon oil spill at the Port of Albany but officials say there’s no risk of contamination to the Hudson River.
The Department of Environmental Conservation says crews responded to the 10-foot diameter spill at the Global Partners terminal after it was reported Wednesday. Clean-up work was expected to be completed Wednesday evening.
The agency says it is looking into the cause of the spill. It says there’s no impact on the river or the environment.
Albany’s river port has emerged as a hub for rail and barge shipments of crude oil, prompting concerns about spills and fires from some residents and environmental groups.
