The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is maintaining its fundraising advantage over its Republican counterpart, raising $7.7 million in July and finishing with $32 million on hand for the fall general election push, The Associated Press reported.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), meanwhile, raised almost $5.4 million in July and has $26 million on hand, and has been outraised by Democrats in 17 of the past 19 months.
All told, the DSCC has raised nearly $104 million and spent more than $73 million this cycle, compared to about $76 million raised and $53 million spent for the NRSC.
Democrats currently hold a tenuous five-seat majority in the Senate and are trying furiously to protect Democratic incumbents or open seats being vacated by Democrats in more than half a dozen states.
