President Obama will speak Monday afternoon about ongoing U.S. military operations in Iraq and the situation in Ferguson, Missouri, the White House said.
Mr. Obama returned to Washington late Sunday night, taking a brief break in the middle of his two-week vacation in Martha’s Vineyard. Earlier Monday, he met with his national security team on Iraq, and later in the day met with Attorney General Eric Holder.
Mr. Holder’s Justice Department has launched an investigation into the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown, whose death has sparked violence and unrest in Ferguson over the past week.
