More than 100 protesters have hit the streets of Ferguson to rally in support of the St. Louis police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown, 18.
They walked the streets wearing T-shirts emblazoned with a picture of a police shield and the text: “I stand by Darren Wilson,” the Daily Mail reported.
Meanwhile, social media has sprung to Officer Wilson’s defense, with at least two Facebook pages coming to life in recent days, accruing a combined total of 35,000 likes.
Supporters have also established a GoFundMe account for Officer Wilson, to help pay his legal fees. the Daily Mail reported. Within just a few hours of kicking off, the site already raised $1,500 — of the requested $5,000.
Witnesses say Officer Wilson, 28, who’s served on the force for six years and has a clean record, gunned down Brown without cause. Officers say that Officer Wilson shot Brown in a struggle over the policeman’s gun.
