PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Three senior administration officials will visit Rhode Island with U.S. Sen. Jack Reed.

Reed said Friday that National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will visit the state in the coming weeks to meet with residents, tour the area and discuss opportunities for economic growth.

Chu will go to Pawtucket, Providence and East Providence to see how her agency’s funds are being used.

Castro will go to neighborhoods around the state where HUD has invested and meet with Latino leaders. Hagel will attend an event about innovation and technology in the defense arena in Newport and visit defense installations.
