President Obama has decided against dumping a bucket of ice water over his head and instead will give a $100 donation to a charity fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Ethel Kennedy, 86, was featured in a viral video participating in the stunt and challenging the president to join in ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) awareness.

If the person challenged completes the stunt, the challenger then has to donate to the ALS Association. If the challenged person doesn’t agree, he or she then has to pay, Mediaite reported.

“The president appreciates Mrs. Kennedy thinking of him for the challenge – though his contribution to this effort will be monetary,” the White House told the Boston Globe’s Matt Viser. “The president will be making a donation to an ALS charity this week.”
