A man and woman visiting the cliffs of Cabo da Roca in Portugal with their two children, ages 5 and 6, fell to their deaths after they stumbled while trying to snap a quick selfie.

Emergency workers couldn’t recover their bodies for nearly 24 hours because of poor weather conditions, United Press International reported.

The two children were taken into custody for care by Polish diplomats. Family members of the two who died were notified and were on route to Portugal, UPI reported.

The names of the victims were not released in the report.
