Two Florida men who reportedly stole marijuana plants to settle a debt were caught and arrested after police said they saw the leafy branches sticking out of the windows of their getaway car.

Justin Goodloe, 20, and Allen Barnes, 19, were arrested on felony manufacturing charges, WFLA Florida reported.

The two took the plants from what they allegedly told police was an “acquaintance” who owed them money for drugs, police said, the local television station reported. Police first saw them driving a car with the lights off and upon approach, then saw the plant hanging out the rear window.

The men could get up to five years in jail, as well as a $5,000 fine.

Clearwater Police posted on the department’s Facebook page that the car’s back seat contained several plants — and “not the kind from the home supplies store, either,” Raw Story reported.
