Conservative firebrand Ted Nugent hit back at his detractors in the media who’ve characterized him as racist — and even pressed a couple of venues to cancel his concerts for alleged racist remarks he made — and he called them hateful destroyers of the truth.
In a column that ran first at WND, Mr. Nugent said, “They say that if you’re taking flak, you must be over the target. Well, lo and behold, the old Motorcity guitars layer is not only directly over the target, I am obviously sitting deadcenter in the enemies’ own foxhole, driving them batty with my unstoppable onslaught of self-evident truth, logic, common sense.”
He then took to task certain media organizations for casting him in less-that-positive light and slamming them as liars.
“For the lying freaks over at the Huffington Post, Moveon.org and the scammers at the Southern Poverty Law Center to go to such extremes to constantly lie about me is proof positive that I am not only on the right track doing God’s work spotlighting the current infestation of cockroaches amongst us, but that they are clearly scared to death of me and virtually incapable of debating me one on one. They know I will go Piers Morgan on them and expose them for the braindead America haters they are.”
Mr. Nugent then included a letter from his personal assistant that came in response to the alleged offense the rocker was accused of making to Native Americans.
“Mr. Nugent has a long history of working with a wide variety of Native American Tribes across our great country,” the letter on WND stated, listing a variety of different events he’s overseen or participated in that involve the Native American community.
Mr. Nugent then wrapped his retort by writing, “To be hated so viciously by such nasty, bad, dishonest enemies of America remains a glowing badge of honor for me. … Uncle Ted, never over, never out. Godspeed, real America. The truth will set you free.”
