MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Gov. Scott Walker is signaling that he will sign into law a bill requiring investigations by outside police forces when people die in custody and another legalizing a marijuana byproduct to help treat seizures in children.
Walker said Wednesday that he didn’t have any “major policy problems” with those bills or any others that remain for him to act on.
Walker has until May 1 to either sign, veto or allow bills passed by the Legislature to become law without his signature.
Roughly 100 bills await his signature.
The marijuana bill would allow only the use of cannabidiol, an oil extract, to be administered under a doctor’s care.
Walker says the measure is “not even remotely close” to legalizing the use of medical marijuana, let alone outright legalizing it.
