CHICAGO (AP) - “Lean In” author Sheryl Sandberg will deliver the commencement address at the City Colleges of Chicago next month.
The Facebook chief operating officer will also meet with a group of students for a discussion on how they overcame personal challenges to accomplish goals.
The graduation ceremony will be held May 3 at 1 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel praised Sandberg in a statement Tuesday as an “innovator and an icon for empowerment in the workplace.” He says she’ll inspire students graduating from the state’s largest community college system.
Sandberg’s best-selling manifesto for working women has sold more than 1.7 million copies.
Her new book, “Lean In: For Graduates,” was released Tuesday. It’s aimed at graduating students seeking more age-specific content than the earlier book provided.
