MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - If you are going to visit Myrtle Beach in the fall, be sure to take a roll of quarters with you.
The City Council voted Tuesday to extend to extend parking meter enforcement in sections of the downtown area through the end of October. The idea was suggested earlier this year as a way to increase revenue for the Downtown Redevelopment Corporation.
Meters in the city will now be enforced from March 1 through Halloween. The ordinance was a compromise from enforcing meters year-round.
Myrtle Beach is the heart of the state’s $18 billion tourism industry.
