Actress Kate Mulgrew, best known for her leading role in “Star Trek: Voyager” as Capt. Kathryn Janeway, has dissociated herself from a documentary trailer she narrated that pushes the idea that the sun revolves around the Earth.

In a Facebook posting about ultraconservative Robert Sungenis and his film, “The Principle,” Ms. Mulgrew wrote, “I do not subscribe to anything Robert Sungenis has written regarding science and history and, had I known of his involvement, would most certainly have avoided this documentary. I was a voice for hire, and a misinformed one, at that. I apologize for any confusion that my voice on this trailer may have caused.”

Ms. Mulgrew association with the video initially shocked many of her fans. In the trailer for the film, she narrates, “everything we think we know about our universe is wrong,” in prelude to the documentary that pushes a scientific theory that was debunked 500 years ago.

Mr. Sungenis, who runs a blog called “Galileo Was Wrong,” years ago reportedly argued that the Holocaust and the killing of millions of Jews is largely unprovable.
